Frequently asked questions
Are you taking new patients?
Little Gem is taking new patients again from August 2024 when we have a new Doctor arrive. Please call us on 0247422011 if you would like to book in a new patient appointment.
How do I get a referral or repeat script?
Referrals are needed for appointments with specialist doctors as well as some allied health care providers such as psychologists. Referrals are generally valid for 12 months.
Requests for referrals and scripts are by appointment only.
How do I know my results are in?
- If your results are normal, you will receive a text message to confirm the GP has read your results and no further action is required.
- If your results are abnormal, you will receive a text message to make an appointment between 7-14 days.
- If your results are urgent, you will be called by Reception, the Nurse or the GP.
If you are unsure, please contact reception. To discuss results you will require an appointment.
Do the GPs do home visits?
Little Gem encourages routine visits to occur at the practice where all equipment and services are available. Home visits are by exception and pre arrangement only, within 10km from the practice. This will need to be discussed with one of our GPs.
Are you open Public Holidays?
Currently we do not open on Public Holidays. If you do require medical support outside of our opening hours, please refer to the After Hours advice under the Contact Us section of the menu.
Do you take walk ins?
Due to the demand we have received, we do not currently take walk ins unless it is an Emergency.
Can I leave a message for my GP?
Your GP will be unable to speak with you while seeing to other patients. If you have a general query or concern, please discuss this with reception so they can address the matter with the GP.
Do you have baby changing facilities?
Yes. Our bathroom offers a baby changing table and spare nappies in the cupboard if required.
I use a wheelchair or walker. Is the practice accessible?
Yes. Our practice is close to disabled parking and offers large rooms for this reason. There are no stairs at Little Gem Medical and we have a beautiful accessible bathroom available.
English is not my first language. Am I able to get a translated service?
Little Gem Medical GPs are registered with the Translation and Interpreting Service (TIS). If you required a translation service for your consult, please let reception know when booking and we will arrange this for you.
I have a hearing or speech impairment. What do I do?
The National Relay Service offers varied options to support people with hearing or speech impairments. If you require this support for your consult, please let reception know when booking your appointment.
I would like to provide feedback regarding the service I received, how do I do this?
Little Gem welcomes all feedback regarding the service being provided. If you would like to provide feedback, please ask reception for our Patient Feedback Form. Alternatively, please contact our Practice Manager on natalie@littlegemmedical.com.au or speak directly with your GP.
